Limits of Commutativity on Abstract Data Types [PDF]

open access: yes5th International Conference on Information Systems and Management of Data (CISMOD'92), Bangalore : India (1992), 2010
We present some formal properties of (symmetrical) commutativity, the major criterion used in transactional systems, which allow us to fully understand its advantages and disadvantages. The main result is that commutativity is subject to the same limitation as compatibility for arbitrary objects.

SDePER: a hybrid machine learning and regression method for cell-type deconvolution of spatial barcoding-based transcriptomic data

open access: yesGenome Biology
Spatial barcoding-based transcriptomic (ST) data require deconvolution for cellular-level downstream analysis. Here we present SDePER, a hybrid machine learning and regression method to deconvolve ST data using reference single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-

Benchmarking cell type annotation methods for 10x Xenium spatial transcriptomics data

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics
Background Imaging-based spatial transcriptomics technologies allow us to explore spatial gene expression profiles at the cellular level. Cell type annotation of imaging-based spatial data is challenging due to the small gene panel, but it is a crucial ...

The EuroCropsML time series benchmark dataset for few-shot crop type classification in Europe

open access: yesScientific Data
We introduce EuroCropsML, an analysis-ready remote sensing dataset based on the open-source EuroCrops collection, for machine learning (ML) benchmarking of time series crop type classification in Europe.

Deconvolution from bulk gene expression by leveraging sample-wise and gene-wise similarities and single-cell RNA-seq data

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background The widely adopted bulk RNA-seq measures the gene expression average of cells, masking cell type heterogeneity, which confounds downstream analyses.
