Digitalizing electroplating requires both domain knowledge and interoperability. This work introduces PlatOn, a domain ontology for trivalent chromium plating and coating characterization, and a hybrid pipeline that aligns it to a mid‐level reference ontology by combining eight similarity metrics with language model reasoning. Expert‐validated mappings

English Vocabulary Learning with Wordlists vs. Flashcards; L1 Definitions vs. L2 Definitions; Abstract Words vs. Concrete Words [PDF]
This study compares the efficacy of the use of wordlists and that of flashcards, the effectiveness of L1 definitions and L2 definitions, the retention of words with concrete words and abstract words, and the conditions under which concrete and abstract ...

The community‐driven Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology (PMDco) 3.0 is introduced as a Basic Formal Ontology‐aligned semantic backbone for the processing–structure–properties paradigm in Materials Science and Engineering. Modular engineering, automated releases, and validation workflows are highlighted and key semantic patterns for materials ...

The relevance of cognitive dysfunction and comprehension of abstract words [PDF]
In healthy subjects, the comprehension process is different between abstract words and concrete words. Previous studies reported that the understanding speed is faster and more accurate for concrete words than abstract words; however, this difference is ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Molecular Adsorbing Host•Guest (MAHG) Crystals: A New Paradigm for Porous Materials?
Networking! Introduction of guest molecules in macrocycles before crystallization profoundly influences the material obtained in terms of structure and function. Beside simplicity and porous space improvement, this approach is endowed with a huge potential given the myriad of potential guest molecules that can be used to tune this burgeoning class of ...

Recall and word recognition of emotion and abstract words [PDF]
Accuracy of word recall is influenced by the unique lexical and semantic properties of a word (e.g., Lau et al., 2018; Madan, 2021). One of the most well-established semantic influences on word recall is ‘concreteness’, where words that refer to physical

Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.
