Suitable single-phase to three-phase AC-DC-AC power conversion system
2012 Twenty-Seventh Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2012This paper presents a single-phase to three-phase power conversion system with parallel rectifier and series inverter to cope with single-phase to three-phase asymmetry. Such converter guarantees both reduction in the input current processed by rectifier circuit and reduction of the output voltage processed by inverter circuit.

AbstractThe computation of harmonics and interharmonics produced by AC/DC/AC conversion systems with PWM inverters is considered, and a new approach is presented. Basically, a new inverter model is introduced that is based on the modulation function theory and is able to take into account the voltage ripple at the inverter input terminals.

Control of AC/DC/AC Converter for Multi MW Wave Dragon Offshore Energy Conversion System
2007 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2007In the paper a direct power and torque control-space vector modulated (DPTC-SVM) algorithm for AC/DC/AC converter is presented. This strategy leads to good dynamic and static behaviors. Additional power feedforward (PF) loop from a generator side converter (GSC) to line side converter (LSC) control improves dynamic of the power flow.

Three-Phase Hybrid AC-DC-AC Voltage/Current Source Converter for Wind Energy Conversion Systems
2019 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2019This paper presents a hybrid AC-DC-AC converter topology applied to wind energy conversion systems. The converter is composed of a generator-side voltage source converter and a grid-side current source converter. By selecting the proper converter to either generator or grid-side, the system enhances the advantages of one converter while mitigates the ...

A converter based on energy injection control for AC-AC, AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC conversion
2018 13th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2018Unlike the traditional converter, this paper analyses the feature of the converter based on energy injection control, which can achieve the AC-AC, AC-DC, DC-DC and DC-AC conversion. The detailed operations of the switches in energy injection mode and free oscillation mode are described.

30 kW electrical power conversion system is developed for a variable speed wind turbine system. In the wind energy conversion system (WECS) a synchronous generator converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy. As the voltage and frequency of generator output vary along the wind speed change, a DC-DC boosting chopper is utilized to maintain ...

AC/AC power conversion based on matrix converter topology with unidirectional switches
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1998In this paper, a new circuit for AC to AC power conversion is presented. The circuit is derived from the matrix converter topology, which has the capability of direct AC to AC power conversion without any DC link reactive component and input inductance except a small snubber.

Continuity of service of wind energy conversion systems as well as their reliability and performances are some of the major concerns in this power generation area. Six-legs AC/DC/AC converters are normally used in modern wind energy systems like as in the system with a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). A sudden failure of the converter can lead to
