AC loss calculation in self-field of NI-HTS coil carrying different transport currents [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology
To solve the problems of the AC loss in self-field for no-insulation (NI) HTS coils carrying different currents, such as AC transport current, the current scanning inverse in order to decrease the screening current, and so on, by using the T ...

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

MMC with parallel-connected MOSFETs as an alternative to wide bandgap converters for LVDC distribution networks

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2017
Low-voltage direct-current (LVDC) networks offer improved conductor utilisation on existing infrastructure and reduced conversion stages, which can lead to a simpler and more efficient distribution network. However, LVDC networks must continue to support

The influence of Lorentz force on the ac loss in sub-size cable-in-conduit conductors for ITER [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The cable-in-conduit superconductors for the ITER coils have operating current in excess of 40 kA and function under last ramp conditions and fields up to 13 T.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Loss of adaptive capacity in asthmatic patients revealed by biomarker fluctuation dynamics after rhinovirus challenge

open access: yeseLife, 2019
Asthma is a dynamic disease, in which lung mechanical and inflammatory processes interact in a complex manner, often resulting in exaggerated physiological, in particular, inflammatory responses to exogenous triggers.

Rotor Eddy-Current loss in permanent-magnet brushless AC machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper analyzes rotor eddy-current loss in permanent-magnet brushless ac machines. It is shown that analytical or finite-element techniques published in literature for predicting rotor eddy-current loss using space harmonic based approaches may not ...

Post‐COVID Fatigue Is Associated With Reduced Cortical Thickness After Hospitalization

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuropsychiatric symptoms are among the most prevalent sequelae of COVID‐19, particularly among hospitalized patients. Recent research has identified volumetric brain changes associated with COVID‐19. However, it currently remains poorly understood how brain changes relate to post‐COVID fatigue and cognitive deficits.
