Influence of ac ageing on space charge dynamics in LDPE

open access: yes, 2003
Polymeric materials have been widely used as insulation in power industry due to their excellent electrical properties. However, these properties deteriorate in time irreversibly when the material is subjected to electric stress. Although space charge is

Controllable AC/DC Integration for Power Quality Improvement in Microgrids

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2019
Renewable energy sources can be connected to utility grids by using AC and DC integration methods. The AC integration is a practical and cost-effective method thanks to its simple structure; however, its power quality protection is weak.

Design Strategies and Emerging Applications of High‐Performance Flexible Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

Influence of DC Voltage Droop Settings on AC System Stability

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents a methodology to study the impact of different DC voltage droop settings on the AC system stability. When several Voltage Source Converters (VSC) in a DC system jointly control the DC voltage by means of droop control, an outage of ...

Formation of Quasi‐Decoupling Interface on Li‐Metal Anodes in High Donor Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Li‐metal anode (LMA) is stabilized by introducing Li2Te2 as an electrolyte additive for Li‐metal batteries. Upon contact with Li, Li2Te2 spontaneously converts to Li2Te, which electronically isolates Li from dimethyl sulfoxide due to its large bandgap and minimal Bader charge transfer.

Ultra-short-term prediction intervals of photovoltaic AC active power [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The paper describes a heuristic method for the ultra-short-term computation of prediction intervals (PIs) for photovoltaic (PV) power generation. The method allows for directly forecasting the AC active power output of a PV system by simply extracting ...
