Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

Reactive Power Optimization of Distribution Network Considering the Reactive Power Output of Doubly Fed Induction Generator

open access: yes南方能源建设
[Objective] At present, wind power generation has been widely used, but wind power is volatile and unstable, and the grid voltage fluctuation and network loss increase will be caused after wind farms are connected to the grid.

Reactive Power Traceable System based Vulnerable Areas Detection for Reactive Power

open access: yesThe Transactions of The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers, 2015
Abstract - The paper analyzes reactive power flow characteristic in power system by reactive power tracing. In addition, virtual buses are inserted in the algorithm to consider losses of transmission lines, and shunt capacitor treated as a reactive power generator. The results of simulation are analyzed by two points of view. The one is load’s point of

The cooperative regulation of miR‐221 by APE1 and AUF1 impacts p27Kip1 defining a miR signature relevant for cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Methods of Simulated Annealing and Particle Swarm Applied to the Optimization of Reactive Power Flow in Electric Power Systems

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2018
Electric power system is characterized by relatively high demand for lagging reactive power. From the economic viewpoint, reactive power sources should be installed close to its demand.

Towards reactive power markets. Part 2: Differentiated market reactive power requirements

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2008
Two major contributions are discussed in this part of a two-part set. first, it presents a new concept of market reactive power requirement (qreq) for every participant in both bilateral and pool markets. this qreq is defined as the reactive power loss allocation to each bilateral transaction using current adjustment factor (CAF) method that has been ...

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.
