Organosolv Pulping and Handsheet Properties of Acacia Hybrid

2019
Acacia hybrid is one of the fast growing timber plantation species that is worth investing in to overcome the shortage of wood supply as the demand for wood production keeps increasing from year to year. This chapter aims to highlight the potential of Acacia hybrid as a fiber source for organosolv pulping to address concerns related to pulping methods ...

Early growth performance of full-sib Acacia auriculiformis x Acacia mangium F1 hybrid progenies at three different sites

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2014
Field trials of 14 full sib Acacia auriculiformis x Acacia mangium F1 hybrid progenies were evaluated for growth performance at three sites (Bintulu, Mentakab and Segamat). Results indicated that there were significant differences (p> 0.05) for diameter breast height (Dbh) and total height (Ht) among the progenies and different sites.

PROBABLE HYBRIDIZATION IN THE ACACIA CONSTRICTA SPECIES GROUP (FABACEAE: MIMOSIDEAE)

The Southwestern Naturalist, 2005
Abstract Principal components analyses (PCA) suggest that Acacia constricta and A. neovernicosa rarely hybridize, 1 lone probable hybrid being reported from Durango, Mexico. In contrast, hybrids of A. neovernicosa and A. schottii seem to be more common.

Mating system and seed variation of Acacia hybrid (A. mangium × A. auriculiformis)

Journal of Genetics, 2009
The mating system and seed variation of Acacia hybrid (A. mangium x A. auriculiformis) were studied using allozymes and random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers, respectively. Multi-locus outcrossing rate estimations indicated that the hybrid was predominantly outcrossed (mean+/- s.e. t(m) = 0.86+/-0.01). Seed variation was investigated using 35

Characterization and evaluation of acacia gum loaded PVA hybrid wound dressing

2013 20th Iranian Conference on Biomedical Engineering (ICBME), 2013
Hydrogels based on natural polysaccharides are found to be so appealing for wound healing applications. The present study deals with the synthesis and characterization of PVA/acacia gum hybrid hydrogels where Arabic gum was evaluated as network properties improvement factor in hybrid hydrogel with the capability of antimicrobial agent (erythromycin ...

Nucleotide sequence analysis of two lignin genes in Acacia auriculiformis × Acacia mangium hybrid for enhancement of wood pulp quality

Tree Genetics & Genomes, 2013
There is large potential in the establishment of Acacia auriculiformis × Acacia mangium hybrid plantations through selection of high quality parents especially with characteristics favourable for some end products like pulp and fibre. Trees altered in their lignin profile with reduced amounts of lignin or increased extractable syringyl are desirable in
