Isomeric leucofisetinidins from Acacia mearnsii

Phytochemistry, 1969
Abstract Closer examination of the heartwood extract of the black wattle ( Acacia mearnsii ) has shown that the flavandiol, (+)-mollisacacidin (2,3- trans -3,4- trans configuration), is accompanied in low concentration by the trans—cis and cis—cis isomers. These isomers have been isolated and fully characterized.

Condensed tannins from steamed Acacia mearnsii bark

Holzforschung, 2005
Abstract The optimum steaming conditions for extraction of condensed tannins from Acacia mearnsii bark were explored, after which characterization of proanthocyanidins from bark steamed under optimum conditions was carried out. The optimum conditions were as follows: steaming time, 30 min; steaming temperature, 140°C; and water volume, 75 ...

Micropropagation of Acacia mearnsii from ex vitro material

Plant Growth Regulation, 1998
Multiple shoots were produced from nodal explants, of 30-day-old in vitro grown seedlings and from pretreated 3- and 9-month-old greenhouse grown Acacia mearnsii plants, respectively. Explants were sterilized using 0.1% and 0.2% HgCl2 for 15 min for 3- and 9-month-old explants, respectively.

Dioxan-linked biflavanoid from the heartwood of Acacia mearnsii

Journal of the Chemical Society C: Organic, 1969
The isolation and characterisation of a novel biflavanoid from Acacia mearnsii heartwood is described. By means of n.m.r. and mass spectrometry it is shown that the two flavanoid units are linked through a dioxan ring. The likely conformation of the molecule is discussed.

The flavonoids of the leaves of Acacia mearnsii

Phytochemistry, 1969
Abstract The leaves of Acacia mearnsii have been found to contain, in addition to four previously identified compounds (myricitrin, quercitrin, (+)-catechin and (+)-gallocatechin), a new flavonol glycoside for which the name mearnsitrin is proposed and the 3-glucosides of myricetin and quercetin.
