ETV2 Mediated Differentiation of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells Results in Functional Endothelial Cells for Engineering Advanced Vascularized Microphysiological Models

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A robust method to generate functional human iPSC‐derived endothelial cells using inducible ETV2 expression. These cells self‐organize into stable, lumenized microvascular networks within microfluidic chips, surpassing conventional differentiation methods.

Start, Stop, Rewind, Repeat—Cyclic Exposure of Adipose Stromal Cells‐derived Cartilage Organoids to Chondrogenic and Proliferative Cues to Achieve Scaled‐up and Customizable Bone Formation by Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study exploits the plasticity of ASCs‐derived cartilage organoids which generate a perichondrial layer of MSCs when exposed to cyclic chondrogenic/proliferative cues. Using these organoids as building blocks, we develop (i) Phalange Shaped Tissue Engineered Cartilage (Pa‐TECs), recapitulating endochondral ossification suitable for the treatment of

Zinc‐Containing Bioactive Glass Programs Macrophage Polarization through Extracellular Traps Regulation for Enhanced Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc‐containing bioactive glass (ZnBG) promotes diabetic wound healing by regulating macrophage extracellular traps (METs). Specifically, ZnBG reduces oxidative stress and inhibits the PAD4 and NLRP3/caspase‐1/GSDMD signaling pathways, thereby suppressing MET formation.

Championing academic integrity in academic development

Canadian Perspectives on Academic Integrity, 2021
Curtis et al. (2021) propose that educators with practical, theoretical, and research experience in academic integrity (AI) are well-suited to deliver workshops on the subject. These workshops promote shared understandings amongst attendees, and provide a platform to discuss concerns, devise solutions, and relieve anxieties.

Academic Freedom and Academic Integrity

International Journal for Business Education, 2023
The demand for freedom, an intense desire in fact, is a positive characteristic of our era, but human freedom does not mean acting in accord with one’s caprices or without restraint by any law. Recent controversaries at universities in Queensland have raised questions about mandating the French Review in Australian higher education as the review ...

Active Academic Integrity

Proceedings of the 52nd ACM Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education, 2021
Even in an introduction to computer science course, students commit academic misconduct. Traditional plagiarism detection software like MOSS fail to give great results for assignments whose solutions are only a few lines long. We change program variable names and then search student code for those variable names.

Academic Integrity

2011
Academic dishonesty is rampant and statistically rising. Academic integrity in online learning programs is of global concern. Individuals who commit academic fraud rationalize their behavior in different ways. Educators must constantly be aware of what students are doing.
