Rotatoria (Radertiere) werden auch als Rotifera bezeichnet. Sie leben uberwiegend limnisch, aber auch marin oder in feuchten Habitaten, und sind 0,5−3 mm lang. Sie wurden nach dem charakteristischen Wimpernfeld (Raderorgan) am Vorderende benannt (→ A). Die Rotatoria bilden eine paraphyletische Gruppe mit drei Subtaxa (Monogonta, Bdelloida und Seisonida)
