Essential oils of Origanum majorana and Satureja thymbra as well as carvacrol are natural products that are known to have potent antioxidant activities. The current study was designed to investigate the role of the antioxidant properties of these natural products in their acaricidal activities against Rhipicephalus annulatus larvae. SummaryThe acaricidal and fungicidal activities of a new acaricide Allerbiocid, formulated for the control of house dust mites, were investigated. The components of the Allerbiocid formula are: 3% benzyl benzoate (acaricidal and fungicidal), 1% tannic acid (protein denaturant) and 0.5% Tween (surface active agent) in 70% isopropyl alcohol (antiseptic).

Synthesis of novel quinolinomatrine derivatives and their insecticidal/acaricidal activities
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2018In continuation of our program to discover natural product-based pesticidal agents, a series of new quinolinomatrine derivatives were prepared. Especially three-dimensional structures of five compounds were unambiguously determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

In vitro assessment of the acaricidal activity of a carvacrol shampoo on tick larvae
Experimental Parasitology, 2022Ticks are a widely distributed arthropod of veterinary importance. Resistance of ticks to synthetic acaricides has become widespread, warranting the development of new drugs for tick management. Carvacrol is a volatile monoterpene, with promising results against various species of ticks; however, to be used for therapeutic purposes, carvacrol must be ...

Fentrifanil: A diarylamine acaricide with potent mitochondrial uncoupling activity
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1980Abstract The acaricide fentrifanil (2′-chloro-2,4-dinitro-5′,6-di(trifluoromethyl)diphenylamine) is a new and very potent type of uncoupler of respiratory chain phosphorylation. It stimulates oxygen consumption, reduces the respiratory control index, lowers the ADP O ratio and releases the oligomycin block of ADP-stimulated respiration in ...

A series of novel pyrazolyl acrylonitrile derivatives was designed, targeting Tetranychus cinnabarinus, and synthesized. Their structures were identified by combination of 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and MS spectra. The structures of compounds 18 and 19 were further confirmed by X-ray diffraction. Extensive greenhouse bioassays indicated that compound 19 exhibits

Synthesis and acaricidal activity of strobilurin-pyrimidine derivatives
Chinese Chemical Letters, 2014Abstract Pyriminostrobin, a new acaricide, was discovered in our previous studies. Because introducing fluorine into organic compounds can increase bioactivity, pyriminostrobin was modified as a series of strobilurin-pyrimidine derivatives for biological screening. The compounds were characterized by 1 H NMR, MS and elemental analysis.

Factors influencing the acaricidal activity of flucycloxuron
Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, 1993AbstractContact activities of flucycloxuron on immature stages of the two‐spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae (Koch)) and the European red mite (Panonychus ulmi (Koch)) gradually decrease in the successive developmental stages. The levels of contact activity of flucycloxuron on larvae and protonymphs of T. urticae and P. ulmi are of the same order.
