Degradation of epoxy coatings under gamma irradiation [PDF]
Epoxy networks based on Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and cured with Jeffamines (POPA) or polyamidoamine (PAA) were gamma irradiated at 25 1C in air. Dose rates of 50, 200 or 2000 Gy h- 1 for doses up 100 kGy were used.

1-D modelling and 3-D simulation of confined bubble formation and formation and pressure fluctuations during flow boiling in a microchannel with a rectangular cross-section of high aspect ratio [PDF]
Copyright @ 2009 ASMEA simple 1-D model with low requirements for computing time is required to investigate parametric influences on the potentially adverse effects of pressure fluctuations driven by confined vapour bubble growth in microchannel ...

Selection of elastomeric membranes for the removal of volatile organics from water [PDF]
A wide range of homogeneous elastomeric membranes has been prepared using dicumylperoxide as a general cross-linking agent. The membranes have been used for both equilibrium sorption measurements and steady-state pervaporation experiments to study ...

Cortisol patterns are associated with T cell activation in HIV. [PDF]
ObjectiveThe level of T cell activation in untreated HIV disease is strongly and independently associated with risk of immunologic and clinical progression. The factors that influence the level of activation, however, are not fully defined.

Dynamic covalent chemistry in polymer networks : a mechanistic perspective [PDF]
The incorporation of dynamic covalent linkages within and between polymer chains brings new properties to classical thermosetting polymer formulations, in particular in terms of thermal responses, processing options and intrinsic recycling abilities ...

Accelerated Pulsed High-Fluence Corneal Cross-Linking for Progressive Keratoconus
To report on 2-year results of accelerated corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) in progressive ectasia using the Avedro KXL system.Prospective interventional case series.A total of 870 patients (1,192 eyes) attending Moorfields Eye Hospital after CXL were included. All patients undergoing CXL had progressive keratoconus.

Validation of smart nanoparticles as controlled drug delivery systems: loading and pH-dependent release of pilocarpine [PDF]
Micelles are good devices for use as controlled drug delivery systems because they exhibit the ability to protect the encapsulated substance from the routes of degradation until they reach the site of action. The present work assesses loading kinetics of
