SEOFP-NET: Compression and Acceleration of Deep Neural Networks for Speech Enhancement Using Sign-Exponent-Only Floating-Points [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio Speech and Language Processing, 2022
Numerous compression and acceleration strategies have achieved outstanding results on classification tasks in various fields, such as computer vision and speech signal processing. Nevertheless, the same strategies have yielded ungratified performance on regression tasks because the nature between these and classification tasks differs. In this paper, a

Acceleration of the gradual degradation in (GaAl)As double‐heterostructure lasers as an exponent of the value of the driving current

Journal of Applied Physics, 1979
Double-heterostructure (GaAl)As lasers are tested at various temperatures and driving conditions, including spontaneous mode operation. Results show that the rate of degradation is primarily determined by driving current rather than optical output when aging at optical outputs of 10 mW/facet or less and heat-sink temperatures of 50–100 °C.

Accelerated Monte Carlo Rendering of Finite-Time Lyapunov Exponents

IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2019
Time-dependent fluid flows often contain numerous hyperbolic Lagrangian coherent structures, which act as transport barriers that guide the advection. The finite-time Lyapunov exponent is a commonly-used approximation to locate these repelling or attracting structures.

Analysis of body responses to an accelerating platform by the largest-Lyapunov-exponent method

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part H: Journal of Engineering in Medicine, 2008
Various disciplines have benefited from the advent of high-performance computing in achieving practical solutions to their problems, and the area of health care is no exception to this. Non-linear signal-processing tools have been developed to understand the hidden complexity of the time series, and these will help clinicians in ...
