Accelerators for nuclear physics [PDF]

open access: yesReports on Progress in Physics, 1972
This article describes the principal charged particle accelerators being used today for research in nuclear physics in the energy range up to about 1000 MeV. The accelerators include Van de Graaffs, sector cyclotrons and linear accelerators for both positive ions and electrons.

Teleportation of Accelerated Information [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Opt. Soc. Am B Vol 30 No. 1 pages 233-237 (2013), 2012
A theoretical quantum teleportation protocal is suggested to teleport accelerated and non-accelerated information over different classes of accelerated quantum channels. For the accelerated information, it is shown that the fidelity of the teleported state increases as the entanglement of the initial quantum channel increases. However as the difference

Developments in laser-driven plasma accelerators [PDF]

open access: yesNature Photonics vol. 7 pp. 775-782 (2013), 2014
Laser-driven plasma accelerators provide acceleration gradients three orders of magnitude greater than conventional machines, offering the potential to shrink the length of accelerators by the same factor. To date, laser-acceleration of electron beams to particle energies comparable to those offered by synchrotron light sources has been demonstrated ...

Accelerating Structures [PDF]

open access: yesCERN Yellow Report CERN-2017-004-SP pp. 91-107, 2018
In this lecture the basic concepts of electromagnetic waves in accelerating structures are discussed. After a short introduction on the propagation of electromagnetic waves and on the concept of travelling wave and standing wave structures, the most important parameters and figures of merit used to describe the acceleration efficiency and the ...

Probing dynamics of fusion reactions through cross-section and spin distribution measurement

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
Present work aims to explicate the effect of entrance channel mass asymmetry on fusion dynamics for the Compound Nucleus 80Sr populated through two different channels, 16O+64Zn and 32S+48Ti, using cross-section and spin distribution measurements as ...
