Acceleration Methods [PDF]

open access: yesFoundations and Trends® in Optimization, 2021
This monograph covers some recent advances in a range of acceleration techniques frequently used in convex optimization. We first use quadratic optimization problems to introduce two key families of methods, namely momentum and nested optimization schemes. They coincide in the quadratic case to form the Chebyshev method.

Critical behaviour of hydrodynamic series

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We investigate the time-dependent perturbations of strongly coupled N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 SYM theory at finite temperature and finite chemical potential with a second order phase transition.

NaAlg-g-AA Hydrogels: Candidates in Sustainable Agriculture Applications

open access: yesGels, 2023
Nowadays, the degradation of agricultural soil due to various factors should be a major concern for everyone. In this study, a new sodium alginate-g-acrylic acid-based hydrogel was developed simultaneously by cross-linking and grafting with accelerated ...

Complexity for charged thermofield double states

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We study Nielsen’s circuit complexity for a charged thermofield double state (cTFD) of free complex scalar quantum field theory in the presence of background electric field.

Accelerating decay with acceleration

open access: yes, 2023
We investigate accelerated Unruh-deWitt detectors as a model for particle decay. We find non-trivial decay rates, including a pattern of peaks in decay rate that extends to lower accelerations. Applying our model to the alpha decay of $\mathrm{^{210}Po}$, we find that effects could be observed with an acceleration of $a\approx 10^{26} \frac{\mathrm{m}}{

Masked Accelerators and Instruction Set Extensions for Post-Quantum Cryptography

open access: yesTransactions on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems, 2021
Side-channel attacks can break mathematically secure cryptographic systems leading to a major concern in applied cryptography. While the cryptanalysis and security evaluation of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) have already received an increasing research

The frequency adjustment study of standing-wave accelerating cavity of linac: calculations, simulations and measurement results [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم و فنون هسته‌ای, 2023
The frequency of cavities in electron linear accelerators changes because of volume variation and manufacturing error. Adjusting the frequency of cavities is one of the most important steps in a cold test, which must be considered in the design.

Hardware Implementation of Deep Network Accelerators Towards Healthcare and Biomedical Applications [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems, 2020
The advent of dedicated Deep Learning (DL) accelerators and neuromorphic processors has brought on new opportunities for applying both Deep and Spiking Neural Network (SNN) algorithms to healthcare and biomedical applications at the edge.

The accelerated acceleration of the universe

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, 2006
We present a simple mechanism which can mimic dark energy with an equation of state w < -1 as deduced from the supernova data. We imagine that the universe is accelerating under the control of a quintessence field, which is moving up a very gently sloping potential.

SHIFT IN PARADIGM: STARTUP BUSINESS-INCUBATION AT UNIVERSITIES DURING THE EDUCATIONAL DISCIPLINE INSIDE OF CURRICULUM RATHER THAN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES OF STUDENTS

open access: yesScientific Journal of Astana IT University, 2022
Diploma or Dropout - it is argued, whether graduation is more important than a successful startup. Students drop either college or their ideas. A presented exploratory study about the incubation of technological startups among students tries to solve ...
