Deep learning for sleep quality assessment: A CNN‐based approach outperforming traditional algorithms in wearable accelerometer data analysis

open access: yesSleep Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study evaluates and enhances wearable sleep monitoring by comparing two feature extraction methods: traditional activity counts and deep learning‐derived features. By identifying optimal machine learning architectures, we aim to improve sleep stage classification accuracy, providing a robust, noncontact tool for clinical chronic

T‐800: An 800 Hz Data Glove for Precise Hand Gesture Tracking

open access: yesSmartBot, EarlyView.
Hand motion capture provides critical insights into human dexterity and facilitates advancements in robotic manipulation, yet existing systems are limited by a trade‐off between temporal resolution and visual occlusion. Here, the authors present T‐800, a high‐bandwidth data glove achieving synchronized full‐hand motion capturing at 800 Hz.

Bath Vibration During Open Eye Formation in a Physical Model of a Steelmaking Ladle

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Using a physical model, this study shows that vibration measurements reliably predict open eye size in steelmaking ladles, offering a practical alternative to visual monitoring. Vessel vibrations stabilize faster than the open eye, except at high frequencies near the bottom.

The Pier Luigi Nervi's concrete structure of Palazzetto dello Sport: Modeling and dynamic characterization

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents a numerical and experimental study aimed at the modeling and dynamic characterization of the reinforced concrete structure of the Palazzetto dello Sport in Rome, designed and by Pier Luigi Nervi with Annibale Vitellozzi, and built by Nervi & Bartoli contractors in 1956‐57.
