Multiple variation of right renal and gonadal vascularization: report of two cases [PDF]

open access: yesJornal Vascular Brasileiro
We present two cases of multiple anatomical variations of the renal and gonadal vessels. The first case presented duplication of the renal vein and the presence of an accessory renal artery.

High origin of left testicular artery associated with accessory renal artery and renal cyst; a cadaveric observation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The variation in origin of the testicular artery is not uncommon, few reports about a high origin from the abdominal aorta exist in the literature. The renal artery is known to exhibit variations in its number and position.

Altered renal functions in patients with occlusion of an accessory renal artery after endovascular stenting of an infrarenal aneurysm. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
OBJECTIVE Coverage of an accessory renal artery (ARA) during endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) may result in renal infarction (RI) or decline in renal function.

Redefining the Surface Anatomy of Major Abdominal Structures in an Adult Population: A Computed Tomography Evaluation

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inconsistencies exist in anatomy and clinical reference texts regarding the vertebral levels of major abdominal structures. Accurate surface anatomy is essential for diagnostic interpretation and interventional procedures, yet little is known about how health status or pathology may influence the vertebral relationships of abdominal organs ...

Trans‐Patch Retrograde Re‐Entry During Hybrid Revascularization of an External Iliac Artery Chronic Total Occlusion: A Technical Note and Review of Re‐Entry Strategies

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Failure of true‐lumen re‐entry after subintimal wire passage is a well‐recognized limitation of endovascular treatment for external iliac artery (EIA) chronic total occlusions (CTO). We report a 73‐year‐old woman with severe limb ischemia and a prior failed endovascular attempt who underwent hybrid left common femoral artery (CFA ...

The prevalence of accessory renal arteries in sudanese population in Khartoum State: a cross-sectional CT study from 2017 to 2020

open access: yesBMC Nephrology
Background Renal artery variations are clinically significant due to their implications for surgical procedures and renal function. However, data on these variations in Sudanese populations are limited.

Cangrelor Dosing, Administration, and Clinical Outcomes for Patients Undergoing Complex and High‐Risk Percutaneous Coronary Interventions

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cangrelor reduces thrombotic events in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), with the advantage of rapid onset and offset. However, premature discontinuation may increase the risk of acute thrombosis for patients undergoing complex/high‐risk PCI (CHIP).

Accessory left testicular artery in association with double renal vessels: a rare anomaly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A rare association of accessory testicular artery along with double renal arteries and accessory renal vein was observed unilaterally on the left side. In addition, the left inferior phrenic artery was arising from the left gastric branch of the coeliac ...

The in‐hospital administration of sacubitril/valsartan in acute myocardial infarction: A meta‐analysis

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 998-1012, April 2025.
In patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction related heart failure, the in‐hospital administration of ARNIs was associated with a reduced risk of MACEs and re‐hospitalizations for heart failure, as well as cardiac remodeling, compared to standard therapy.

Bilateral origin of ovarian arteries from accessory renal arteries

open access: yesSaudi Medical Journal, 2012
Ovarian arteries generally arise from the anterolateral (or lateral) aspect of the abdominal aorta caudal to the origin of the renal arteries at the level of L2 vertebra. The ovarian arteries may arise from the renal, suprarenal, inferior phrenic, superior mesenteric, lumbar, common iliac, or internal iliac arteries.
