Chitosan‐Decorated Alumina Hybrid Nanoparticles as Smart Scavengers of HF and Dissolved Transition Metals in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

Multi‐functional scavenger made of Al2O3 nanoparticles decorated with chitosan is produced and tested in cathodes for LIBs. Al2O3 core is a trap for HF. The chitosan capping is acid‐sensitive, and the opening of such a coating layer is triggered in the presence of HF, leading to efficient TM ion‐trapping.

Evidence of the Electrochemical Ca2+ Intercalation in Anatase Nanotubes

Calcium can be electrochemically incorporated into anatase nanotubes using metallic calcium or capacitive counter electrodes and an aprotic electrolyte. Overall Li+, Na+ and Ca2+ electrochemical intercalations into anatase induces strong distortions as observed by ex situ X‐ray diffraction and spectroscopy.

New spectrally selective coatings for CSP linear receivers operating in air at high temperature

A new multilayer coating is proposed for a CSP (concentrated solar power) receiver tube operating in open air at high temperature. Encouraging optical parameters were obtained with αs > 80% and εth (600 °C) below 20%, stable after more than 2000 h in air at T = 600°C.
