Interoceptive Accuracy as a Function of Hypnotizability

International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 2021
This study aimed to measure the interoceptive accuracy (IA) of individuals with high (highs), medium (mediums), and low hypnotizability (lows) through the heartbeat-counting task during 3 relaxation trials. Participants completed the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA), ECG and skin conductance (SC) were monitored, and the ...

Accuracy in Optical Tracking with Fiducial Markers: An Accuracy Function for ARToolKit

Third IEEE and ACM International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality, 2005
Optical tracking with fiducial markers is commonly used in Augmented Reality (AR) systems. AR systems that rely on the ARToolKit [Marker Tracking and HMD Calibration for a Video-based Augmented Reality Conferencing System] are prominent examples. The information obtained by the tracking subsystem are widely used in AR, e.g.

Accuracy of Recall as a Function of Eidetic Imagery

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1979
90 subjects (45 boys and 45 girls) from Grades 3, 4, 5 were screened for eidetic imagery. Using Haber's criteria, 12 subjects were identified as having eidetic imagery. These subjects were randomly divided into two groups of six each with one group designated the experimental group and the other, the control group.

Accuracy of addition silicones as a function of technique

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1986
Both addition and condensation silicones produced stone dies that were larger in diameter and shorter in height than the tooth preparation. For both materials, there was little change in the distance between stone die preparations compared with the standard.

The Accuracy of the Chebyshev Differencing Method for Analytic Functions

SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2005
Let \(f(x)\) be a differentiable function defined on \([-1,1]\). One of the most powerful procedure for the numerical calculation of the derivative \(f^\prime (x)\) is given by the Chebyshev spectral collocation process, that is by taking the derivative of an interpolating polynomial.

XMeter: Finding Approximable Functions and Predicting Their Accuracy

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 2021
Approximate computing has significant potential to improve the efficiency of a computing system. Numerous techniques have been proposed in literature. Virtually, all of them require programmers to either experiment with every instance of a specific type of code region exhaustively to find approximable code regions or annotate such regions manually ...

On Estimation Accuracy for Nonsmooth Functionals of Regression

Theory of Probability & Its Applications, 1991
A nonparametric regression scheme \[ X_{in}=\theta(i/n)+\xi_{in}, \qquad i=1,\dots,n, \] is studied for independent Gaussian (0,1)-random errors \(\xi_{in}\). The regression function \(\theta(t)\), \(0\leq t\leq 1\), is assumed a priori to belong to the class \(\Sigma(\beta,L)\) of functions with \((\beta-1)\) derivatives, with the \((\beta-1)\)th ...

The Accuracy of Intuitions of Function and Mechanism

2023
Function – what a thing is for – and mechanism – how a thing’s parts interact to make it work – are considered by cognitive psychologists and philosophers of science to be integrally related despite people’s acute sensitivity to their differences. Here, we set out to better characterize lay adults’ intuitions about functional and mechanistic knowledge ...
