Tumor Necrosis Factor Superfamily 14: A Potential Predictor of Atrial Fibrillation Recurrence After Catheter Ablation

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 4, April 2026.
TNFSF14 levels may reflect atrial fibrosis and inflammation. High TNFSF14 level was associated with increased atrial fibrillation recurrence after catheter ablation. Incorporating TNFSF14 into conventional risk models can improve predictive performance and aid individualized post‐ablation management.

Prognostic Value of Cystatin C Across Ejection Fraction Spectrum in Heart Failure With Normal to Mild Renal Dysfunction Original Investigation

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 4, April 2026.
Methods and cohort: HF patients with normal to mild renal insufficiency (n = 637), divided into HFpEF, HFmrEF, and HFrEF. Statistical Method: Cox regression models, Kaplan‐Meier Curves, C‐index, IDI, and NRI. Findings: Over a follow‐up of 9.4 years, significant associations of elevated CysC levels with increased risks of all‐cause mortality and HF ...

The Potential Role of Baseline FT3/FT4 Ratio as a Prognostic Biomarker for Patients With Ischemic Non‐Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 4, April 2026.
A low FT3/FT4 ratio indicates a significant increase in the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in INOCA patients, or a novel biomarker for prognosis. ABSTRACT Background Ischemia with non‐obstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA) is associated with an increased risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).

Phenotyping of Fontan‐Associated Renal Physiology and Disease

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 2, April 2026.
In patients with a Fontan circulation, both kidney function and glomerular injury progressively decline with age, with a stronger decline than in healthy individuals. Additionally, intrarenal haemodynamics in patients with a Fontan circulation demonstrate decreased venous and arterial compliance, evident through elevated venous impedance and renal ...
