Cardio‐Kidney‐Metabolic Therapy Use Among Adults With Type 1 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 4344-4351, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Kidney and cardiovascular diseases are highly prevalent among patients with Type 1 diabetes. To date, no randomised clinical trial has reported on the impact of novel cardio‐kidney‐metabolic (CKM) therapies (GLP‐1RA and SGLT2i) on kidney function in this population.

A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, Volume 30, Issue 2, Page 245-253, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Pulmonary Function Decline in Very Early Diagnosis of Systemic Sclerosis: A Retrospective Longitudinal Single‐Center Study

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
Objective The very early diagnosis of systemic sclerosis (SSc; VEDOSS) criteria aim to identify patients at risk of evolving into SSc. The predictive value of diffusing capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide (DLco) and forced vital capacity (FVC) remains poorly characterized. This study aimed to evaluate whether baseline pulmonary function test (PFT)

Association of Ankle Brachial Index and Cognitive Function in Elderly Hypertensive Patients: A 2‐Year Longitudinal Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
Our study was designed to evaluate the association between ABI and cognitive function in elderly hypertensive patients. Through a 2‐year follow‐up, we found that ABI is associated with cognitive impairment and cognitive function decline in elderly hypertensive patients, superior to the blood pressure‐related parameters and BaPWV.
