Some derivatives of acenaphthene

Tetrahedron, 1965
Abstract 3,5,6,8-Tetranitroacenaphthene has been made. Bromination of 5-nitroacenaphthene gave 3-bromo-6-nitroacenaphthene. The previously prepared 1,5,6,7,8,8a-hexabromo-6,7,8,8a-tetrahydroacenaphthene has been further examined.

A vibrational assignment of acenaphthene

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular Spectroscopy, 1969
Abstract The Raman spectra of a single crystal of acenaphthene have been recorded in all possible orientations and this information has been supplemented by the measurement of depolarization ratios of the Raman lines in solution spectra. The polarized infrared spectra of an ac crystal section have been measured in the region below 600 cm−1 in order ...

Thermoelectret effect in acenaphthene

[1991 Proceedings] 7th International Symposium on Electrets (ISE 7), 2002
A series of acenaphthene thermoelectrets was prepared as a function of polarizing temperature (35 degrees C to 90 degrees C) and polarizing field (5.4 kV/cm to 27 kV/cm) under controlled temperature and field conditions. Initial charge and charge-decay measurements were carried out using a Lindemann electrometer.

Detritiation in 1,8-dimethylnaphthalene, acenaphthene and perinaphthane

Tetrahedron Letters, 1971
The rates of detritiation of [2-T]-, [3-T]-, and [4-T]-1,8-dimethylnaphthalene and the corresponding specifically labelled acenaphthenes and perinaphthanes have been measured a t 30° in anhydrous trifluoroacetic acid. The order of ortho and para reactivities is acenaphthene > perinaphthane > 1,8-dimethylnaphthalene; the meta positions are

Degradation of acenaphthene by ozone.

Biomedical and environmental sciences : BES, 2007
To investigate the oxidation of acenaphthene (Ace), a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) with a saturated C-C bond by ozone and to characterize the intermediate products of ozonation.Ozone was generated from filtered dry oxygen by an ozone generator and continually bubbled into a reactor containing 1g/L Ace dissolved in an acetonitrile/water solvent

Photoelectret effect in acenaphthene

10th International Symposium on Electrets (ISE 10). Proceedings (Cat. No.99 CH36256), 2003
Ever since the discovery of photoelectrets by Nadjakov in sulphur, a variety of materials have been used to study the photoelectret effect. Acenaphthene, an organic molecular solid having structure Intermediate between naphthalene and anthracene, has been selected for the study of photoelectret effect. Electrical conduction mechanism and thermoelectret
