A Stable Carbon‐Centered Radical Showing Six Amphoteric Redox States
A fully conjugated system built by alternate fusion of four benzene and three cyclopentadiene rings is a further rare example of an air‐ and moisture‐stable carbon‐centered hydrocarbon radical. It was synthesized by double ortho fusion and was extensively characterized by spectroscopic and computational methods.

Development of Continuous‐Flow Reactions for the Synthesis of Anti‐Alzheimer Drug Memantine
Memantine hydrochloride, an NMDA receptor antagonist used in Alzheimer's treatment, features an adamantane core with a bridgehead amino group. Its synthesis from acenaphthene involves hydrogenation, skeletal rearrangement, nitration, and reduction. Continuous‐flow reactions were explored for each step to develop a continuous manufacturing process for ...

Enhanced biodegradation of PAHs in historically contaminated soil by M. gilvum inoculated biochar [PDF]
The inoculation of rice straw biochar with PAH-degrading Mycobacterium gilvum (1.27 × 1011 ± 1.24 × 1010 cell g−1), and the subsequent amendment of this composite material to PAHs contaminated (677 mg kg−1) coke plant soil, was conducted in order to ...

Gas-Phase Synthesis of Triphenylene (C18 H12 ). [PDF]
For the last decades, the hydrogen-abstraction-acetylene-addition (HACA) mechanism has been widely invoked to rationalize the high-temperature synthesis of PAHs as detected in carbonaceous meteorites (CM) and proposed to exist in the interstellar medium (
