Tree mapping and carbon inventory on a university campus in South Korea: Case study and global review

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2025.
Abstract Campus trees have significant potential for sequestering carbon in urban environments and improving civic life quality; however, few inventories of university campus trees have been constructed worldwide (excluding North America). This study briefly overviews the current status, challenges, and prospects of inventorying campus trees and ...

The complete chloroplast genome of Acer fabri (Aceraceae)

open access: yes, 2022
Abstract Acer fabri is endemic to the provinces of Guangdong, Jiangxi, Hunan, and Sichuan in China. This study sequenced and analyzed the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of A. fabri. The cp genome was 156,918 bp in length, including a large single-copy (LSC) region of 85,309 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 18,103 bp, and a pair of ...

New insights on the phylogeny, evolutionary history, and ecological adaptation mechanism in cycle‐cup oaks based on chloroplast genomes

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2024.
Based on 50 plastomes of cycle‐cup oaks, we found a conserved structure while nine protein‐coding genes went through positive selection. The phylogenetic tree based on complete chloroplast genomes, coding DNA sequences, and highly divergent regions produced a poorly resolved genetic relationship of the plastid lineages of cycle‐cup oaks. Abstract Cycle‐

Recent Studies on Cyclic 1,7-Diarylheptanoids: Their Isolation, Structures, Biological Activities, and Chemical Synthesis

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Diarylheptanoids are a family of plant secondary metabolites with a 7 carbon skeleton possessing two phenyl rings at the 1- and 7-positions. They can be subdivided into acyclic and cyclic diarylheptanoids where the latter are further divided into meta ...

Recent Advances in the Synthesis of Diarylheptanoids

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 19, Issue 15, August 1, 2024.
A review covering the total syntheses of biologically significant class of diarylheptanoids during the period 2013–2023. This review covers 35 natural diarylheptanoids across linear, tetrahydropyran, diarylether and biphenyl diarylheptanoids. Abstract In the quest for synthesizing biologically important natural products, medicinal chemists embark on an

Pest categorisation of Pyrrhoderma noxium

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2024.
Abstract Following the commodity risk assessment of bonsai plants (Pinus parviflora grafted on Pinus thunbergii) from China performed by EFSA, the EFSA Plant Health Panel performed a pest categorisation of Pyrrhoderma noxium, a clearly defined plant pathogenic basidiomycete fungus of the order Hymenochaetales and the family Hymenochaetaceae.
