Ultrastructure of sensillum t1 on the foretarsus of Acerentomon majus berlese (Protura : Acerentomidae)

Abstract The shape and ultrastructure of sensillum t1 on the foretarsus of the proturan, Acerentomon majus Berlese have been described by means of scanning and transmission electron microscopy. Sensillum t1 is a club-shaped structure, innervated by 3 sensory cells.

Review of Paracerella Imadate (Protura: Acerentomidae, Nipponentominae) with identification key and description of a new species

Sugaentulus andrzeji sp. nov. from Siberia, Russia (Protura: Acerentomidae: Acerentominae) and key to Acerentominae genera

Sugaentulus andrzeji sp. nov. is described from Siberia. The new species is characterized by the peculiar shape of maxillary gland and striate band and leaf-like sensilla on maxillary palps. The related S. masumii differs from the new species by the broader calyx with distinct extra appendix and slender sensilla on maxillary palps.

Reexamination of three North American Nipponentomon species (Protura, Acerentomidae, Nipponentominae) with updated key to identification

Type material of three Nipponentomon species, N. andrei, N. aureitarsum and N. californicum, are analysed. Additional descriptions include morphological characters, which were not described earlier, such as chaetotaxy of head, length and shape setae on nota and foretarsus, and porotaxy on tergites and sternites.
