Mechanistic Kinetic Modeling of the Selective Methanol Oxidation Based on Christiansen Mathematics

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 98, Issue 5, Page 181-190, May 2026.
The article provides a mechanistic description of reaction rates for the selective methanol oxidation to green oxygenates. For this, a detailed reaction mechanism is provided based on catalytic cycles. The catalytic cycles are translated into mechanistic rate expressions using Christiansen mathematics.

Carbohydrate‐Based Drug Discovery: Synthetic Strategies and Clinical Applications

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 3, May 2026.
The picture depicts the molecules discussed in the review. On the left side, the general scaffold of sugars is shown. Next to it are four carbohydrate‐based molecules, including remdesivir, islatravir, empagliflozin, and Globo‐H. Remdesivir and islatravir contain a substituted ribose ring attached to a modified nucleobase.

Toward Fully Biobased Polyesters With Spiroacetal Units: Synthesis and Enzymatic Depolymerization

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 5, May 2026.
A biobased spiroacetal‐containing dicarboxylate monomer derived from vanillin is developed as a sustainable alternative to dimethyl terephthalate. Copolyesters with tunable compositions are prepared, showing enhanced glass transition temperature, mechanical properties, and oxygen barrier performance.

Fluorescent Supramolecular Gels Based on D‐Sorbitol Derivatives

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 27, 14 May 2026.
Sugar‐based fluorescent low‐molecular‐weight gelators (LMWGs) DNapS, DBTDS, and MCumS, prepared by a green, scalable route, form supramolecular gels in water, organic, and deep eutectic solvents. MCumS yields solvent‐dependent nanofibrous networks and viscoelastic injectable eutectogels.

Abiraterone Acetate [PDF]

open access: yesDrugs in R&D, 2010
Abiraterone acetate (CB 7630; CB7630; JNJ-212082), the 3β-acetate prodrug of abiraterone, is structurally related to ketoconazole and is being developed by Cougar Biotechnology as a hormonal therapy for advanced prostate and breast cancers. As a selective inhibitor of adrenal androgens, it is thought to be a safer product than existing second-line ...

Comparative Evaluation of Additives in Softwood Fractionation: Impacts on Lignin Recovery and Pulp Quality

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Chemical lignin stabilization during acid hydrotropic fractionation is shown to distinctly influence delignification, lignin quality, and pulp performance. Phenol enhances lignin removal, while thiol‐based modifier yields light‐colored lignin, high recovery, and strong pulp.

Re2O7-catalyzed reaction of hemiacetals and aldehydes with O-, S-, and C-nucleophiles

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2013
Re(VII) oxides catalyze the acetalization, monoperoxyacetalization, monothioacetalization and allylation of hemiacetals. The reactions, which take place under mild conditions and at low catalyst loadings, can be conducted using hemiacetals, the ...

Preparation of fructone catalyzed by aluminium sulfate in ionic liquid medium

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2010
Fructone (2,4-dimethyl-2-ethylacetoacetate-1,3-dioxolane) was synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate (EAA) with 1,2-propanediol (PPO) catalyzed by aluminium sulfate in the presence of ionic liquid.
