Cobalt–Oxygen Bond Homolysis in the Bench‐Stable (Salen*)Cobalt(III) Acetate Complex: Insight into the Organometallic Mediated Radical Polymerization of Diverse Monomers

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 226, Issue 18, September 19, 2025.
The air‐stable [(Salen*)Co(OAc)] complex initiates the radical polymerization of vinyl monomers via Co–O bond homolysis, distinguishing it from classical air‐sensitive cobalt complexes relying on Co‐C bond cleavage. Accordingly, MMA polymerization proceeds via catalytic chain‐transfer while MA undergoes controlled OMRP involving two distinct initiation

Structural and Spectroscopic Trends in Alkali Tris(Acetato)Actinyl(VI) Complexes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 19, July 12, 2025.
Alkali tris(acetato) actinyl(VI) complexes of different actinyls and identical alkali metals are mostly isostructural, showing a redshift in the symmetric actinyl stretch across the actinide series. With increasing alkali ionic radii, a progression to lower symmetry is observed that correlates with subtle changes in the electronic and vibrational ...

Transfer Hydrogenation to Bicarbonate Salts and CO2 Catalyzed by IrCp*‐Oxyquinolinate Complexes

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 17, Issue 13, July 8, 2025.
[IrClCp*(QO)] complexes are efficient catalysts for the transfer hydrogenation of CO₂ and bicarbonate salts under mild conditions. This process enables formate production without hazardous H₂ gas, highlighting the role of ligand design in catalytic performance.

Obtención de acetato de celulosa a partir de desechos agroindustriales

open access: yesUniciencia, 1989
Con el objeto de buscar nuevos usos a algunos desechos de la agroindustria, se sintetizó acetato de celulosa a partir de celulosa obtenida de cáscara de piña, cascarilla de arroz y aserrín de madera.

Synthesis of a National Soil Dataset Across Productive Land in Mexico: The Importance of Making Existing Data Accessible

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Soil Science, Volume 76, Issue 3, May–June 2025.
ABSTRACT The lack of soil data is a complication that most soil scientists will encounter throughout their career; this critical aspect is exacerbated due to the excessive cost of soil surveying. Consequently, it is essential to develop strategies that guarantee the permanent accessibility of past soil sampling efforts.

Citrate dialysate does not induce oxidative stress or inflammation in vitro as compared to acetate dialysate

open access: yesNefrología (English Edition), 2017
Increased acetataemia during haemodialysis sessions has been associated with a number of abnormalities, including increased oxidative stress, pro-inflammatory cytokines and nitric oxide synthesis.

Racemic mimics. Part 1. Nickel coordination compounds

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section C, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 181-187, April 2025.
There are very few examples of crystallographically well‐documented racemic mimics. Therefore, this interesting class of crystalline molecules, potentially having useful biological uses, is today one of those scientific orphans largely ignored in the crystallographic realm.

Technetium ‐ The Unknown Center of the Periodic Table

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 9, March 21, 2025.
It took 78 years from Mendeleev's proposal of an existence of “eka‐manganese” (1869) until it was finally named as technetium in 1947. Another 78 years have passed since then. A good occasion to pinpoint what we know and what we still don't know of this element in the center of the periodic table.
