Analysis of proteins responsive to acetic acid in Acetobacter: Molecular mechanisms conferring acetic acid resistance in acetic acid bacteria

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2008
Acetic acid bacteria are used for industrial vinegar production because of their remarkable ability to oxidize ethanol and high resistance to acetic acid. Although several molecular machineries responsible for acetic acid resistance in acetic acid bacteria have been reported, the entire mechanism that confers acetic acid resistance has not been ...

Acid-base interaction in the acetic acid-acetic anhydride system

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences, USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1963
1. The electroconductivity and dielectric permeability of the acetic acid-acetic anhydride system have been measured. The electroconductivity of the system has a maximum close to 50% of the anhydride. The curve of the dielectric permeability is concave toward the composition axis. 2.

Carbonate Matrix Acidizing with Acetic Acid

Proceedings of SPE International Symposium on Formation Damage Control, 2000
Abstract Conventional matrix acidizing in carbonate reservoirs uses hydrochloric acid to remove formation damage and stimulate well performance. Many experimental and theoretical studies in carbonate acidizing have confirmed the existence of an optimal acid injection rate at which major wormholes are formed, and the benefit from ...

The heats of formation of ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid and diethylenetriaminepenta-acetic acid

Journal of the Chemical Society A: Inorganic, Physical, Theoretical, 1967
The heats of combustion of ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid and diethylenetriaminepenta-acetic acid have been measured by use of a static bomb calorimeter. The results have been used to calculate the standard heats of formation: –ΔHf°(C10H16O8N2,c)= 420·5 ± 0·2 kcal. mole–1, –ΔHf°(C14H23O10N3,c)= 531 · 9 ± 0·2 kcal.

Catalytic Cracking of Acetic Acid to Acetic Anhydride

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Process Design and Development, 1968
Catalytic cracking of acetic acid using triethyl phosphate and silica gel catalysts was investigated. The desired reaction leading to ketene is accompanied by side reactions: two parallel with respect to acetic acid decomposition and the consecutive ketene decomposition reactions.

Diaroyl Acetic Acids

Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science (1903-), 1966
Scheme I describes the postulated reaction for the preparation of compound I and may be considered to be the general reaction folr the preparation of any member of the I-V series. The presence of the intermediate, diethyl-di(3-chlorobenzoyl) molonate, shown in Scheme I for compound I was chosen as an example to be characterized and reported in the ...
