Acetone as an Anticonvulsant [PDF]
SummaryRecent interest in the anticonvulsant effects of acetone has stemmed from studies related to the ketogenic diet (KD). The KD, a high‐fat diet used to treat drug‐resistant seizures, raises blood and brain levels of three ketones: beta‐hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate, and acetone.

Photochemical Study of 2-(6-Methoxynaphthalen-2-yl) Propanoic Acid Iron(III) in Different Organic Solvents [PDF]
The photochemistry of chelate complex 2-(6-methoxynaphthalen-2-yl) propanoic acid iron (III) Fe(L)3 was studied in three polar aprotic solvents: Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), Dimethyl form amide (DMF), Acetone (Ac).

The Ketogenic Diet: Breath Acetone Sensing Technology
The ketogenic diet, while originally thought to treat epilepsy in children, is now used for weight loss due to increasing evidence indicating that fat is burned more rapidly when there is a low carbohydrate intake.

Acetone and perdeuterated acetone in UV-IMS [PDF]
Measuring a mixture of acetone and perdeuterated acetone (acetone-d6) with an ultra-high resolution drift time ion mobility spectrometer (resolving power of Rp = 235) and ultraviolet ionization (10.6 eV) at ambient pressure reveals three separated peaks. Two of the peaks can easily be associated with acetone and perdeuterated acetone.

Bio‐oil upgrading via ketonization of carboxylic acids on Na promoted Ca/AlOx catalysts
Ketonization of carboxylic acids is valuable for bio‐oil upgrading and producing bio‐derived chemicals. Ca/AlOx metal oxides with various Ca/Al ratios have been prepared by the low‐cost and natural abundant metals in the process. The addition of alkaline
