Comparison of the Gastrointestinal Absorption of Aluminum Acetylsalicylate and Acetylsalicylic Acid in Man

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1962
The gastrointestinal absorption rate and biological availability of aluminum acetylsalicylate have been studied in human subjects by the urinary excretion method. Acetylsalicylic acid absorption from orally administered aluminum acetylsalicylate was found to be less rapid than from aspirin, probably due to the very slow dissolution of the aluminum salt

Chronopharmacological study of acetylsalicylic acid in mice

European Journal of Pharmacology: Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology, 1995
Influence of dosing time on pharmacological effects and toxicity of acetylsalicylic acid was investigated in ICR male mice under light-dark (12:12) cycle. Significant circadian rhythms (day-night rhythms) were demonstrated for hypothermal and analgesic effects at 1 h after an injection of acetylsalicylic acid (200 mg/kg, i.p.) (P < 0.01, respectively).

Determination of acetylsalicylic acid and salicylic acid in plasma

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1967
A specific and sensitive method has been developed for the determination of acetyl-salicylic acid and salicylic acid in plasma. Both of these compounds are extracted from acidified plasma with ether. A portion of the ether extract is concentrated, reacted with a silanizing reagent in carbon disulfide, and the silyl derivative of acetylsalicylic acid is

ALLERGY TO ACETYLSALICYLIC ACID

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1933
To the Editor: —Referring to the clinical note on death following the administration of 5 grains of acetylsalicylic acid to an allergic patient, by B. R. Dysart (The Journal, August 5), I feel constrained to voice an opinion. In the first place, acetylsalicylic acid is a widely used drug and before death can be attributed to its use it appears to me ...
