Repair of acute and delayed ruptures is discussed. Tendonitis is by far commoner than ruptures. The pathology and conservative and surgical treatments are discussed.

This article reviews the ultrasound, the MR image, and the radiographic appearance of the normal and damaged tendon. The potential value to patient management is discussed for each modality.
