Room Temperature Anisotropic Photoresponse in Low‐Symmetry Van der Waals Semiconductor CrPS4
ABSTRACT The crystalline and optical anisotropy of low‐symmetry 2D materials can enable strong dichroic responses, enhancing polarization contrast for photonic and optoelectronic devices. Here, we unveil pronounced optical and optoelectronic anisotropy in chromium thiophosphate (CrPS4) arising from the strong coupling between light polarization and its

Centimeter-size achromatic metalens in long-wave infrared
Metalens has shown its significantly ultra-light and ultra-thin features. However, large-aperture achromatic metalens is constrained by both maximum dispersion range and computational memory.

Highly Efficient Broadband Achromatic Microlens Design Based on Low-Dispersion Materials
Metalenses with achromatic performance offer a new opportunity for high-quality imaging with an ultra-compact configuration; however, they suffer from complex fabrication processes and low focusing efficiency.

Evolution and Conceptual Insights into the Geometric Phase of Light: A Comprehensive Review
This review presents a unified account of the geometric phase of light, linking its fundamental principles to diverse manifestations in polarization, spatial, and vector modes. By connecting theoretical frameworks with key experimental realizations, it reveals a coherent physical picture that deepens understanding and stimulates new directions in ...

Neighborhood-Restricted Achromatic Colorings of Graphs
A (closed) neighborhood-restricted 2-achromatic-coloring of a graph G is an assignment of colors to the vertices of G such that no more than two colors are assigned in any closed neighborhood. In other words, for every vertex v in G, the vertex v and its

Our aim was to make a quantitative comparison of the response of the different visual cortical areas to selective stimulation of the two different cone-opponent pathways [long- and medium-wavelength (L/M)- and short-wavelength (S)-cone-opponent] and the ...

A compact reflective terahertz quarter‐wave metasurface fabricated via 2PP‐3D printing method is experimentally demonstrated near 1 THz frequency. Broadband linear‐to‐circular polarization conversion is achieved over 0.75–1.30 THz (∼54% fractional bandwidth), with axial ratio below 3 dB and ellipticity approaching −1.

Automatic search for cemented doublets using the saddle point construction method
Conventional optical design relies on iterative and time-consuming optimization methods. Finding the right starting system facilitates the design of relevant optical systems.

Abstract Premise Floral adaptations to pollinators can drive lineage diversification and promote coexistence of species. We investigated the reproductive biology of Satyrium longicolle, a South African orchid that we hypothesized to belong to a long‐proboscid horsefly pollination guild and examined overlap of pollinators and floral traits among ...

Repeating Nuclear Transients From Repeating Partial Tidal Disruption Events
ABSTRACT Extragalactic nuclear transients that exhibit repeating outbursts can be modeled as the repeated dynamical interaction between bound stars and supermassive black holes (SMBHs). A subset of these transients, with recurrence timescales of months‐to‐years, have been explained as accretion flares from the repeated tidal stripping of a star by an ...
