Achromatic stigmatism: achromatic Cartesian ovoid
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2022Monochromatic and chromatic aberrations are imaging defects mainly studied from a geometrical optics point of view. These defects are treated through optimization and minimization methods to achieve acceptable performance in optical imaging systems, where the correct choice of glass materials is one of the main challenges.

Achromatic and super-achromatic zero-order waveplates
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 2004Abstract We discuss a brief classification of waveplates including achromatic and super-achromatic ones. Anizotropic properties of polymethylmethacrylat (PMMA) subjected to one-axis stretching are analyzed. The parameters controlling the value of the PMMA birefringence are identified and their typical spectral dependence is discussed.

An investigation of the chromatic properties of waveguide lenses is described. In general, the focal length of mode-index and Fresnel zone (diffractive) lenses will be a function of wavelength. As a result, these lenses will have high optical quality over only a relatively small wavelength range.
