Energy exploitation of acid gas with high H2S content by means of a chemical looping combustion system [PDF]
In gas and petroleum industry, the waste gas stream from the sweetening process of a sour natural gas stream is commonly referred as acid gas. Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC) technology has the potential to exploit the combustible fraction of acid gas,

Selective removal of H2S from sour gases with microporous membranes. Part II. A liquid membrane of water-free tertiary amines [PDF]
In the present study the application of a liquid membrane for selective removal of H2S from gases also containing CO2 was investigated. The liquid membrane was filled with pure methyl-di-ethanol-amine (MDEA). A theoretical model was developed to describe:

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

A lichen protected by a super-hydrophobic and breathable structure [PDF]
A species of lichen, Lecanora conizaeoides, is shown to be super-hydrophobic. It uses a combination of hydrophobic compounds and multi-layered roughness to shed water effectively.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell Model of In-cloud Scavenging of Highly Soluble Gases
We investigate mass transfer during absorption of highly soluble gases such as HNO_{3}, H_{2}O_{2} by stagnant cloud droplets in the presence of inert admixtures. Thermophysical properties of the gases and liquids are assumed to be constant.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
