The Role of DmCatD, a Cathepsin D-Like Peptidase, and Acid Phosphatase in the Process of Follicular Atresia in Dipetalogaster maxima (Hemiptera: Reduviidae), a Vector of Chagas' Disease. [PDF]
In this work, we have investigated the involvement of DmCatD, a cathepsin D-like peptidase, and acid phosphatase in the process of follicular atresia of Dipetalogaster maxima, a hematophagous insect vector of Chagas' disease. For the studies, fat bodies,

HISTOCHEMICAL METHODS FOR ACID PHOSPHATASE [PDF]
Results obtained by the PbS method and by the post-coupling method of Rutenburg and Seligman are closely similar. However, there are minor differences which appear to be due partly to the presence of more than one acid phosphatase in the tissues, partly to diffusion artifacts.

Acid Phosphatase Activity in Melanosomes
In 1965, Seiji and Iwashita (1) found acid phophatase and adenosine triphosphatase, in addition to tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin formation, in a melanosome fraction isolated by density gradient centrifugation from Harding-Passey mouse melanoma. The biological significance and origin of these two enzymes have not yet been clarified.

Properties of acid phosphatase from some parasitic helminthes [PDF]
The activity of acid phosphatase has been estimated in parasitic helminthes, including Fasciola hepatica , Moniezia benedeni and Dirofilaria immitis. Acid phosphatase found to be active in extracts of all these parasites. The activity of acid phosphatase

Acid phosphatases (APs) are a family of enzymes that are widespread in nature, and can be found in many animal and plant species. Mystery surrounds the precise functional role of these molecular facilitators, despite much research. Yet, paradoxically, human APs have had considerable impact as tools of clinical investigation and intervention.

Purification and characterization of acid phosphatase from a germinating black gram (Vigna mungo L.) seedling [PDF]
An acid phosphatase has been isolated and purified from an extract of a germinating black gram seedling. The method was accomplished by gel filtration of a germinating black gram seedling crude extract on sephadex G-75 followed by ion exchange ...
