Bioleaching of djurleite using Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans

Minerals Engineering, 2013
Abstract The bioleaching of djurleite using Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans (LD-1) was investigated in this paper. Experiments were carried out in shake flasks at pH 2.0, 160 r/min and 30 °C. The leaching residues were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

Bacterial leaching of critical metal values from Polish copper metallurgical slags using Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans.

Journal of Environmental Management, 2019
Global economy faces an increasing problem of the supply risk of critical raw materials, therefore the search for secondary resources has become an urgent issue. Copper orebodies in Poland contain substantial amounts of metals deemed critical (e.g.

Mechanisms of pyrite biodepression with Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans in seawater flotation

, 2020
It has been shown that bacterium Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans can be used to depress pyrite in seawater flotation at natural pH, which opens the possibility for its use as an alternative to lime to depress pyrite in copper sulfide flotation.

Bioleaching of chalcopyrite by Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans

Minerals Engineering, 2013
Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans (A. ferrooxidans) was selected to experimentally study the effects of bacteria on the oxidation of chalcopyrite. The results indicated that A. ferrooxidans remarkably promoted the oxi- dation of chalcopyrite. The pH of the cell broth medium was observed to increase and then decrease dur- ing the bioleaching experiment ...

A comparison of bioleaching of covellite using pure cultures of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans and Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans or a mixed culture of Leptospirillum ferrooxidans and Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans

Hydrometallurgy, 2003
The aim of this investigation was to determine the efficacy of covellite bioleaching using pure cultures of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans or Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans and a mixed culture composed of At. thiooxidans and Leptospirillum ferrooxidans. The experiments were carried out in shake flasks with or without iron(II) (1 g/L as ferrous sulphate)
