Use of an Anaerobic Chamber Environment for the Assay of Endogenous Cellular Protein-Tyrosine Phosphatase Activities

open access: yesBiological Procedures Online, 2002
Protein-tyrosine phosphatases (PTPases) have a catalytic cysteine residue whose reduced state is integral to the reaction mechanism. Since exposure to air can artifactually oxidize this highly reactive thiol, PTPase assays have typically used potent ...

Green Polymer Chemistry: Investigating the Mechanism of Radical Ring-Opening Redox Polymerization (R3P) of 3,6-Dioxa-1,8-octanedithiol (DODT)

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
The mechanism of the new Radical Ring-opening Redox Polymerization (R3P) of 3,6-dioxa-1,8-octanedithiol (DODT) by triethylamine (TEA) and dilute H2O2 was investigated.

Deoxygenation of Graphene Oxide: Reduction or Cleaning? [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry of Materials, 2013
We show that the two-component model of graphene oxide (GO), that is, composed of highly oxidized carbonaceous debris complexed to oxygen functionalized graphene sheets, is a generic feature of the synthesis of GO, independent of oxidant or protocol used. The debris present, roughly one-third by mass, can be removed by a base wash.

Cyclic Voltammetry Study for MnO2 Nanoparticles Modified Carbon Paste Electrode

open access: yesNano Biomedicine and Engineering, 2019
An electrical method was prepared for the measurement of Mn with trace amount in drugs and for the assessment of a sensitive method in comparison with spectrometric and atomic analyzer by a new carbon paste electrode modified with MnO2 nanoparticles. The

Intracellular Oxidation-Reduction Studies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Biology, 1928
ABSTRACT In a number of studies on the reduction potentials of living tissues and cells, the method of immersing the material under investigation in solutions of oxidation-reduction indicators has found considerable employment. Under controlled conditions and with sufficient knowledge concerning the physico-chemical characteristics of ...

Variation of iron redox kinetics and its relation with molecular composition of standard humic substances at circumneutral pH. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Oxidation and reduction kinetics of iron (Fe) and proportion of steady-state Fe(II) concentration relative to total dissolved Fe (steady-state Fe(II) fraction) were investigated in the presence of various types of standard humic substances (HS) with ...

Determination of Diclofenac on a Dysprosium Nanowire- Modified Carbon Paste Electrode Accomplished in a Flow Injection System by Advanced Filtering

open access: yesSensors, 2009
A new detection technique called Fast Fourier Transform Square-Wave Voltammetry (FFT SWV) is based on measurements of electrode admittance as a function of potential. The response of the detector (microelectrode), which is generated by a redox processes,

Changes in Sperm Glutathione and Glutathione Redox States Correlate to Poor Sperm Qualitative Measures

open access: yesReproductive Medicine
Background/Objectives: In the past 50 years, human reproductive capacity has steadily declined with elusive and idiopathic origins. Amongst theorized causes, oxidative stress has been proposed to directly contribute to male infertility.
