Tequila vinasses acidogenesis in a UASB reactor with Clostridium predominance [PDF]
Tequila vinasses represent an acidic, highly concentrated pollutant effluent generated during the distillation step of Tequila production. Although acidogenesis of Tequila vinasses has been reported for some reactor configurations, a characterization of the bacteria present during this metabolic process is lacking in the literature. Hydraulic retention

Effect of Aso limonite on anaerobic digestion of waste sewage sludge
The effect of Aso volcanic limonite was explored in anaerobic digestion using waste sewage sludge (WSS). In this study, methane and hydrogen sulfide were remarkably inhibited when Aso limonite was mixed with WSS as well as a significant reduction of ...

Solubilization of Particulate Cellulose Using Anaerobic Acidogenesis
Hydrolysis and acidogenesis in anaerobic digestion comprises the first step in converting biodegradable particulates into methane gas. The optimum conditions in this stage are different from those for methanogenesis. Results of tests to solubilize organic particulates of a known size distribution are presented and discussed here.

Coenzyme A-transferase-independent butyrate re-assimilation in Clostridium acetobutylicum - evidence from a mathematical model [PDF]
The hetero-dimeric CoA-transferase CtfA/B is believed to be crucial for the metabolic transition from acidogenesis to solventogenesis in Clostridium acetobutylicum as part of the industrial-relevant acetone-butanol-ethanol (ABE) fermentation.

Ultrasound-assisted hydrolysis and acidogenesis of solid organic wastes in a rotational drum fermentation system [PDF]
The hydrolysis and acidogenesis of solid organic wastes in a rotational drum fermentation system (RDFS) were improved by direct ultrasonic irradiation (DUSI) and a modified ultrasonic treatment (MUST) composed of dilution, ultrasonic irradiation, and ...
