Bioremediation of Eutrophicated Water by Acinetobacter Calcoaceticus

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2007
Removal of phosphorus and nitrogen from eutrophicated water was carried out by in situ bioremediation. With the addition of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, 65.0% +/- 4.0% of total phosphorus (TP), 37.0% +/- 4.0% of total nitrogen (TN), 75.0% +/- 7.0% nitrite (NO(2) (-)-N), and 87.0% +/- 4.0% of ammonia (NH(4) (+)-N) were removed.

Acinetobacter calcoaceticus Septicemia in Patients With Cancer

Southern Medical Journal, 1985
At our institution, 95 cases of Acinetobacter septicemia occurred over a ten-year period (1973 to 1982) in patients being treated for cancer. In 24 patients the infection was polymicrobial, while Acinetobacter ssp was the only offending pathogen in 71 patients.

Meningitis due to Acinetobacter calcoaceticus variant anitratus

Journal of Hospital Infection, 1980
Introduction Acinetobacter calcoaceticus is a non fermentative aerobic Gram-negative bacillus which is widely dispersed in nature. Several outbreaks of nosocomial infection due to A. calcoaceticus have been reported, often in association with contamination of hospital equipment or the hands of personnel (Glew, Moellering & Kunz, 1977; Buxton, Anderson,

Postoperative endophthalmitis caused by sequestered Acinetobacter calcoaceticus

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2000
To describe postoperative endophthalmitis caused by sequestered Acinetobacter calcoaceticus.Case report. A 40-year-old woman developed recurrence of inflammation after extracapsular cataract extraction with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. At last recurrence, the capsular bag was studded with white deposits.

[Cytochrome composition of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus].

Acta biologica et medica Germanica, 1978
The qualitative and quantitative composition of cytochromes in intact cells of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus and in particle fractions obtained from cells following ultrasonic treatment by differential centrifugation were studied using spectrophotometric methods.

Natural transformation in Acinetobacter calcoaceticus.

SAAS bulletin, biochemistry and biotechnology, 1990
Acinetobacter calcoaceticus is a metabolically versatile microorganism that is naturally competent for DNA uptake and incorporation. We have exploited the natural state of competency for studies involving the cloning, organization and expression of genes encoding catabolic enzymes. A.

ACINETOBACTER CALCOACETICUS- ACINETOBACTER BAUMANNII (ABC) AND NEW SPECIES

2019
The Acinetobacter genus had 12 genomic species. In the last 30 years based on DNA-DNA hybridization the taxonomic differences has been reported. Currently 49 species are recognized. The biochemically indistinguishable strains, A. baumannii (genomik species 2), Acinetobacter nosocomialis (genomik species 13TU), Acinetobacter pittii (genomik species 3 ...
