Evaluation of Colistin Susceptibility in Carbapenem‐Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii Isolates Using Broth Microdilution, MICRONAUT‐MIC‐Strip, and VITEK MS

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 4, August 2025.
The colistin susceptibility of 194 carbapenem‐resistant Acinetobacter baumannii isolates was assessed using broth microdilution (BMD), MICRONAUT‐MIC‐Strip (MMS), and VITEK MS–based MALDIxin methods. MMS demonstrated high categorical (98.9%) and essential (96.3%) agreement with BMD, with no very major errors.

In vitro Effects of Two Silver Electrodes on Select Wound Pathogens [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The use of electrical current to promote wound healing is well documented. However, little is understood about the effects of micro-amperage direct current (μADC) on growth of wound pathogens.

Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic evaluation of sulbactam‐durlobactam in a critically ill patient on continuous venovenous hemofiltration infected with carbapenem‐resistant Acinetobacter baumannii‐calcoaceticus complex

open access: yesPharmacotherapy: The Journal of Human Pharmacology and Drug Therapy, Volume 45, Issue 7, Page 396-402, July 2025.
Abstract Background Drug databases currently do not provide dosing guidance for sulbactam‐durlobactam in continuous renal replacement therapy. Herein, we present the first in vivo pharmacokinetic (PK) evaluation of sulbactam‐durlobactam during continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH) in a patient with carbapenem‐resistant Acinetobacter baumannii ...

Single Cell Protein Production From Ethanol: Model‐Based Bioreactor Operation at Industrial Scale

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 122, Issue 6, Page 1441-1460, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Alternative fermentation feedstocks such as ethanol can be produced from CO2 via electrocatalytic processes that coproduce O2. In this study, industrial‐scale fermentation of ethanol with pure O2 for single cell protein (SCP) production was studied using a modeling approach.

Multidimensional Engineering of Escherichia coli for Efficient Adipic Acid Synthesis From Cyclohexane

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 14, April 10, 2025.
An engineered Escherichia coli is developed to efficiently produce adipic acid (AA) from cyclohexanol, KA oil (a mixture of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone), or cyclohexane through a combination of enzyme screening, protein fusion, and genome editing techniques. This approach has achieved the highest recorded productivity for biological AA production to
