Phenolic constituents of Acorus gramineus

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2011
The purification of a MeOH extract from the rhizome of Acorus gramineus (Araceae) using column chromatography furnished two new stereoisomers of phenylpropanoid, acoraminol A (1) and acoraimol B (2). It also furnished 17 known phenolic compounds, β-asarone (3), asaraldehyde (4), isoacoramone (5), propioveratrone (6), (1'R,2'S)-1',2'-dihydroxyasarone (7)

Comparison of In vitro Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Activity of Acorus gramineus and Acorus calamus

Research Journal of Pharmacy and Technology, 2023
The present study is aimed to compare the in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of Acorus gramineus and Acorus calamus (Araceae). The antimicrobial activity of the two plants was evaluated disc diffusion and minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) method against six strains. The ethyl acetate fraction of rhizomes extract from A.

Lipids of Acorus calamus

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2001
Lipids of the leaves, stems, and rhizomes with roots ofAcorus calamusL. were investigated. The neutral-lipid classes and fatty-acid composition of neutral-, glyco-, and phospholipids were determined. The essential oil content in the total lipids of A. calamus was established by steam distillation.

Phenylpropanes fromAcorus tatarinowii

Planta Medica, 2000
In addition to a number of known compounds, four new phenylpropanes isoacoramone, (cis) epoxyasarone, (threo) 1',2'-dihydroxyasarone and (erythro) 1',2'-dihydroxyasarone were obtained from the roots of Acorus tatarinowii ("Shi-Chang-Pu" in Chinese). The later two isomers were obtained as a mixture.
