Monopole Acoustic Logging While Drilling Acoustic Insulator Based on Labyrinthine Grooved Structure

open access: yesCejing jishu
In acoustic logging while drilling (ALWD), the presence of a thick-walled drill collar inspires significant amplitude drill collar waves, which will interfere with the measurement and acquisition of formation information.

Acoustic Emission and Echo Signal Compensation Techniques Applied to an Ultrasonic Logging-While-Drilling Caliper [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2017
A logging-while-drilling (LWD) caliper is a tool used for the real-time measurement of a borehole diameter in oil drilling engineering. This study introduces the mechanical structure and working principle of a new LWD caliper based on ultrasonic distance

Higher order modes in acoustic logging while drilling [PDF]

open access: yesSEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2005, 2005
Summary In multipole acoustic logging while drilling (LWD), the fundamental modes dominate recorded waveforms. Higher order modes may also appear and complicate the processing of LWD data. In dipole LWD measurements, the dipole tool mode is often not well separated from the flexural mode. This makes the shear wave measurement more difficult.

Acoustic radiation and reflection of a logging-while-drilling dipole source [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 2019
SUMMARY With the comparison to the resistivity ultra-deep measurement, the single-well reflection survey in acoustic logging-while-drilling (ALWD) measurement lags far behind, especially ALWD dipole measurement has long been thought to be little added value.

Acoustic source characterization for a logging while drilling tool: Theoretical and experimental modeling [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2018
The development of acoustic source technology has been an important task for acoustic logging while drilling (LWD) and various source designs have been implemented. Using a multipole wave expansion theory, this study demonstrates that a LWD acoustic source can be represented as a combination of monopole, dipole, and quadrupole constituents and ...

The research of LWD acoustic isolator based on SAW spatial separation [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Acoustic logging while drilling (LWD) can extract P-wave and S-wave information from the formation. However, the transmission of the collar wave propagated directly from the emitter to the receiver may interfere with the P-wave and S-wave and affect the ...

The optimal design of receiving circuit in acoustic logging while drilling tool [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Computer Science Research, 2015
This paper begins with the problems encountered in logging while drilling practice, proposing the necessity and requirement of receiving circuit with rigorous design. Considering the fact that the amplitude of noise signal with low frequency is far greater than that of formation wave, this paper provides a design of 11-order high pass analog active ...
