Reconstructing speech from human auditory cortex. [PDF]
How the human auditory system extracts perceptually relevant acoustic features of speech is unknown. To address this question, we used intracranial recordings from nonprimary auditory cortex in the human superior temporal gyrus to determine what acoustic

Tumbling Magnetic Microrobots for Targeted In Vivo Drug Delivery in the GI Tract
We introduce a microrobot design and integrated system for on‐demand targeted drug release in the gastrointestinal tract. The microrobot has an embedded magnet for actuation with external magnetic fields and is visualized in real time using ultrasound. It has two drug release ports sealed with a thermally sensitive wax. Local heating of the wax using a

Acoustic image reconstruction by Markov random fields
The author describes a method for the reconstruction of noisy underwater 3-D acoustic images. Depth and related confidence maps, obtained by a beamforming process, are modelled as Markov random fields. The probability distributions of the fields are specified by a single energy functional to be minimised for the optimal estimation.
