Characteristics of Guided Acoustic Wave Brillouin Scattering in Polarization Maintaining Fibers
Optical Review, 1996Characteristics of guided acoustic wave Brillouin scattering in polarization maintaining fibers are investigated theoretically and experimentally. Spectra of polarized and depolarized scattering are measured for two different types of polarization maintaining fibers: the PANDA (polarization maintaining and absorption reducing) fibers and the elliptical-

Characteristic analysis of underwater acoustic scattering echoes in the wavelet transform domain
Journal of Marine Science and Application, 2017Underwater acoustic scattering echoes have time–space structures and are aliasing in time and frequency domains. Different series of echoes properties are not identified when incident angle is unknown. This article investigates variations in target echoes of monostatic sonar to address this problem.

Numerical modeling of acoustic scattering characteristic with wavenumber domain admittance
INTER-NOISE and NOISE-CON Congress and Conference ProceedingsA conversion from the wavenumber domain acoustic reflection coefficient to the wavenumber domain acoustic admittance is formulated to deal with the acoustic reflection properties of arbitrary materials in numerical simulation. This method, which can represent arbitrary reflection directional properties, is an extended reactive boundary condition ...

Control of the Acoustic Scattering Characteristics of a Rigid Sphere by Surface Loading
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1965The problem of an acoustic wave incident on a rigid sphere “loaded” in a narrow azimuthal region is considered. The solution appears as the superposition of the field scattered by the unloaded sphere and that radiated by an active slot coincident with the load, with the radiation strength of the slot related to the loading characteristics in the ...

We carry out a numerical analysis of the solution of scattering problems for acoustic waves by acoustically soft and rigid bodies whose shape is close to spherical. We obtain the absolute value of the scattering amplitude as a function of the wave number. Four figures. One table. Bibliography: 8 titles.

Acoustic effects on Bessel light beam characteristics in scattering media
Journal of Optical TechnologySubject of study. This study examines the propagation of Bessel light beams in scattering media under acoustic interaction. Aim of study. The study aims to investigate speckle contrast reduction, or the “enlightenment” of a scattering medium, as Bessel light beams propagate through it, using the acoustic impact on the medium ...

An approach is presented to investigate the acoustic transmission and scattering of a plane wave by a fluid loaded plate with line impedance discontinuities. Non-specular contributions to the acoustic field are shown to originate at the discontinuities on the plate, which is described by Timoshenko-Mindlin plate theory.
