Iscephalosporium acremonium capable of producing maduromycosis?

Mycopathologia et Mycologia Applicata, 1964
A case of mycetoma apparently due toCephalosporium acremonium is described. The position ofCephalosporium spp. as agents of maduromycosis is briefly considered.

Genetics of Acremonium

1987
In comparison with several other filamentous fungi, such as Aspergillus nidulans and Neurospora crassa, our understanding of the genetics of species of Acremonium is still in its infancy. Much of the work that has been done has centered on Acremonium strictum (Cephalosporium acremonium), which is not surprising in view of its commercial importance ...

Kératomycose à Acremonium kiliense

Médecine et Maladies Infectieuses, 1997
Summary The authors report a keratitis fungal case due to Acremonium kiliense in a 73 year old man. Diagnosis was made after finding A. kiliense in the cornea and the right conjunctiva. Marked improvement occured after using ketoconazol and amphotericine B ocular instillation.

Polymorphic karyotypes in related Acremonium strains

Current Genetics, 1991
A restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis was performed on six related Acremonium strains. With respect to the restriction fragment pattern, all strains of A. chrysogenum were indistinguishable from each other but showed distinctive differences from those of A. strictum, A. flavum and Cephalosporium polyvaleurum. Using pulsed-field gel

Acremonium Recifei as an Agent of Mycetoma in India

The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1979
Acremonium recifei was identified as the causal agent in a case of white grain eumycotic mycetoma of the hand which occurred in South India. The identification was based on the structure of the granules in tissue and on the morphological characteristics of the culture obtained from the granules.

Secondary Metabolites of Penicillium and Acremonium [PDF]

open access: possible, 1987
Fungi elaborate an almost bewildering array of metabolites that, being additional to those normally regarded as having a specific role in the living process, are generally termed secondary metabolites. It is now clear that all the compounds are biosynthesized from a few key metabolic intermediates that are themselves either intermediates or end ...

Recurrent Keratitis Due to Acremonium Potronii

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1975
In a 15-year-old boy a culture-proved keratitis after a corneal perforation healed without antifungal agents after corneal suturing and application of tissue glue. Eight months later a posterior corneal abscess developed. Diagnostic and therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty was performed when the lesion failed to respond to pimaricin.

Efficient integrative transformation of Cephalosporium acremonium

Current Genetics, 1987
A hybrid gene, IPNSp/HPTorf, was constructed by placing an 850 bp sequence of Cephalosporium acremonium DNA next to the 5' end of a bacterial open reading frame, HPTorf. The sequence was obtained as an 850 bp NcoI restriction fragment from the 5' non-coding region of the C. acremonium isopenicillin N synthetase (IPNS) gene. The HPTorf was obtained from
