Successful treatment of Acremonium fungemia with voriconazole
Mycoses, 2003SummaryWe report two cases of Acremonium fungemia with proven involvement of the skin and probably of the lung in patients who were both undergoing chemotherapy, one for mantle cell lymphoma and the other for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Both patients failed amphotericin B deoxycholate treatment and were successfully treated with voriconazole with ...

Exopolysaccharide formation by isolates of Cephalosporium and Acremonium
Mycological Research, 1989Of thirty-three isolates of members of the form genera Acremonium and Cephalosporium screened for exopolysaccharide production, thirty proved positive in a medium with a high C:N ratio. Chemical studies suggest that the materials from strains giving the highest yields are homopolymers of glucose, β-glucans.

Morphology and Physiology of Penicillium and Acremonium
1987Both Penicillium and Acremonium ( = Cephalosporium) are common and widespread in soil; they are particularly associated with senescent and dead plant material, so that the majority of floristic studies of a wide range of soil types and plant surfaces include species of these genera in the lists of fungi isolated.

Acremonium Endophytes in Mediterranean Tall Fescue
1997There is a growing awareness among plant scientists that clavicipitaceous anamorphic endophytes infecting grasses constitute a valuable genetic resource (microbial germplasm) for use in improving forage and turf grass performance (Clement et al 1994, Wilson 1996).

Biosynthesis of Xenovulenes in Acremonium strictum
2018Xenovulenes are a family of fungal meroterpenoids produced by the ascomycete Acremonium strictum. Xenovulene A binds the GABA receptor in vitro. The compound exhibits an unusual tetrahydrofuro-cyclopentenone attached to a humulene ring, which aroused interest in its biosynthesis.
