ABSTRACT Microbial enzymes expressed in plants add new functionalities but occasionally trigger undesirable immune responses. Phanerochaete carnosa glucuronoyl esterase (PcGCE) hydrolyses the bond between lignin and 4‐O‐methyl‐α‐D‐glucuronic acid substituent of glucuronoxylan.

A case ofAcremonium strictumperitonitis [PDF]
During the past two decades opportunistic fungal infections have emerged as important causes of morbidity and mortality in patients with severe underlying illnesses. A few cases of Acremonium spp. infections have been described in immunocompromised patients, but they have on occasion been reported as the cause invasive disease in immunocompetent ...

Acrepyrone A, a new γ-pyrone derivative from an endophytic fungus, Acremonium citrinum SS-g13
A new γ-pyrone derivative, acrepyrone A (1), and three known sorbicillinoids, trichodimerol (2), dihydrotrichodimerol (3) and tetrahydrotrichodimerol (4) were isolated from an endophytic fungus, Acremonium citrinum SS-g13, harboured in the roots of the ...

This study investigated the effects of incubation time and temperature, and initial patulin concentration on patulin removal rates, and the mechanism involved in patulin degradation by Rhodosporidiobolus ruineniae and Meyerozyma guilliermondii. The patulin degradation rate by the yeast strains was dependent on the three key parameters.

Organic intercropping legacy reduces Fusarium pathogens and root rot in subsequent durum wheat
Abstract Intercropping is a sustainable practice becoming increasingly popular in the Canadian Prairies. However, its long‐term impact on diseases in subsequent sole crops is not well understood. We examined root rot and associated fungal communities in durum wheat [Triticum turgidum L. ssp.

Fungal brain abscesses caused by Acremonium species
Unusual fungal agents that exist environmentally as saprophytes can often lead to opportunistic infections, hyalohyphomycosis is a group of fungal infections caused by fungi characterized by hyaline septate hyphae and can infect both immunocompetent as ...

Root rot suppression mechanisms in lentil promoted by organic intercropping
Abstract Intercropping a grain legume with a grain nonlegume is of increased interest by producers in the Canadian Prairies, especially under organic production where intercropping is an alternative to the lack of economic returns of green manure or summer fallow.
