Subcutaneous hyalohyphomycosis caused by Acremonium recifei: case report Hialo-hifomicose subcutânea por Acremonium recifei: registro de um caso

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 1995
We present a case of subcutaneous hyalohyphomycosis due to Acremonium recifei, a species whose habitat is probably the soil, first identified in 1934 by Arêa Leão and Lobo in a case of podal eumycetoma with white-yellowish grains and initially named ...

Incidence of Microascus/Scopulariopsis Species Complex (Microascales:Ascomycota) in Fitted Carpet Dust From Residential Houses and Mosques in Duhok Province, Iraq [PDF]

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Science and Engineering, 2017
One hundred samples of carpet dusts (50 samples from residential houses and 50 samples from mosques) were surveyed for the presence of the potentially pathogenic fungi Microascus/Scopulariopsis species complex (Microascales:Ascomycota).

Functional Characterisation of Microbial Communities Related to Black Stain Formation in Lascaux Cave

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 17, Issue 6, December 2025.
Excessive anthropization can lead to black stain alterations on cave walls. The present work reports the first metagenomic analysis of black stains threatening artwork in Lascaux Cave. Findings show new microbial taxa and genetic potential associated with black stains.

Deciphering the Distribution Patterns of Pathogens Associated With Esca and Petri Diseases in Rootstock Mother Vines Potentiates the Development of Alternative Control Strategies in Grapevine Nurseries

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 74, Issue 9, Page 2644-2653, December 2025.
Use of rootstock cane tip sections, and removal of rootstock mother vines heavily infected by Petri and esca disease‐related pathogens, could lead to the production of healthier grapevine propagation material. ABSTRACT The widespread emergence of Phaeomoniella chlamydospora and Phaeoacremonium minimum in grapevine nurseries over the past two decades ...

Acremonium sclerotigenum-Acremonium egyptiacum: a multi-resistant fungal pathogen complicating the course of aplastic anaemia [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Microbiology and Infection, 2014
A patient with aplastic anaemia, successively treated with caspofungin then liposomal amphotericin, developed a disseminated infection due to Acremonium, further confirmed as resistant in vitro to these drugs. Successful treatment was achieved with voriconazole.

Bioethanol production from fruit waste using a microbial co‐culture of Bacillus siamensis F2 and Candida albicans GP1

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 19, Issue 6, Page 1915-1930, November/December 2025.
Abstract This study explores the sustainable valorization of fruit waste (FW) for bioethanol production using a consolidated bioprocess (CBP) that combines fermentation and enzymatic hydrolysis in a single step. A co‐culture of Bacillus siamensis F2 (a multienzyme producer) and Candida albicans GP1 (a fermentative yeast) was employed to maximize ...

Origin and characterization of cyclodepsipeptides: Comprehensive structural approaches with focus on mass spectrometry analysis of alkali‐cationized molecular species

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, Volume 44, Issue 6, Page 1013-1098, November/December 2025.
Abstract Cyclodepsipeptides (CDPs) represent a huge family of chemically and structurally diverse molecules with a wide ability for molecular interactions. CDPs are cyclic peptide‐related natural products made up of both proteinogenic and nonproteinogenic amino acids linked by amide and ester bonds.
