Compositional Characterization, Quality Parameters, and Physicochemical and Bioactive Properties of Pequi ( Caryocar brasiliense ) Oils From Xingu and Cerrado in Mato Grosso, Brazil

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, Volume 103, Issue 6, Page 609-622, June 2026.
Cerrado oil is richer in MUFA and antioxidant compounds, while Xingu oil shows higher SFA and enhanced oxidative stability, reinforcing the potential of pequi oil as a sustainable bioactive ingredient. ABSTRACT Pequi ( Caryocar brasiliense ) is a native fruit widely distributed in Brazilian biomes, specially in Cerrado, known for its high oil yield and

Oviposition and predation by Speciomerus revoili (Coleoptera, Bruchidae) on seeds of Acrocomia aculeata (Arecaceae) in Brasília, DF, Brazil

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
Oviposition and predation levels by Speciomerus revoili bruchid beetles were quantified on fruits and seeds of the macaúba palm, Acrocomia aculeata, collected from below mother-trees within the Sarah Kubitschek Park of Brasília, DF, Brazil.

Modifying Effect of the Antibiotic Action, Membrane Permeability, and ADMET/Toxicity Profile of the Fixed Oil From the Pulp of Mauritia Flexuosa F.L. (Arecaceae)

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The increasing bacterial resistance to antibiotics has stimulated the search for natural products capable of modulating antimicrobial activity. In this study, the fixed oil from Mauritia flexuosa pulp was evaluated for its antibacterial activity, modulatory effect on antibiotics, membrane permeability, and ADMET/toxicity profile.

Integrated bioconversion of starchy and hemicellulosic fractions of macauba oil presscake into ethanol by nonconventional yeasts

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 779-792, March/April 2026.
Abstract Co‐fermentation of hexoses and pentoses from plant biomass to ethanol is a strategy to increase ethanol production from lignocellulosic materials and add value to residues from agroindustrial chains. The macauba (Acrocomia aculeata) is an oleaginous palm‐tree species considered to contribute to development in some regions of Brazil.

Acrocomia aculeata prevents toxicogenetic damage caused by the antitumor agent cyclophosphamide

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Research, 2016
Acrocomia aculeata is a plant rich in antioxidant compounds. Studies suggest that this plant has anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and diuretic potential. We assessed the antigenotoxic, antimutagenic, immunomodulation, and apoptotic potentials of A. aculeata alone and in combination with an antitumor agent, cyclophosphamide.
