Four cases of large eccrine acrospiroma (three benign, one malignant) are reported. The benign tumors involved the lower extremities of two women and one man (73 to 89 years of age). The duration of the lesions ranged from 10 to 20 years. The malignant tumor involved the left side of the chest of a 60-year-old man.

A 76-year-old woman was referred after results of the biopsy of an ulcerated mass of the right long finger suggested poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. Excision and skin grafting were done and a diagnosis of malignant acrospiroma was established. These tumors are aggressive and 5-year survival rate may be as low as 30%. A ray amputation was

Metastatic malignant acrospiroma of the hand
European Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2001We present the case of a 37-year-old man with multiple pulmonary metastases of a primarily unknown primary tumour. Thorough revision of the medical history yielded that he had already passed three resections of a right palmar mass, which had been described as a benign tumour.

The authors present a case of seemingly textbook digital osteomyelitis with draining ulceration. Per protocol, specimens were sent to pathology with the intent to verify and identify the offending organisms. Surprisingly, the textbook osteomyelitis returned with a pathological diagnosis of rare sweat gland tumor, malignant eccrine acropsiroma ...

Eccrine Acrospiroma (Porosyringoma) of the Eyelid
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1970SWEAT gland tumors of the eyelids are uncommon, and most ophthalmologists have had little experience with them. There is also considerable confusion in classifying some of these lesions pathologically. Recently, the name "eccrine acrospiroma" has been proposed for a histologically distinct sweat gland tumor that in the past has been reported variously ...

Recurrent Malignant Acrospiroma
Dermatologic Surgery, 1998Malignant acrospiroma is an uncommon tumor of the eccrine sweat gland. In contrast to its relatively more common benign counterpart, malignant acrospiroma is highly invasive, often with significant lymphatic and distant metastasis. The establishment of this diagnosis is difficult on both clinical and histopathologic grounds.

Eccrine Acrospiroma of Inguinal Area
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 2006Eccrine acrospiroma is a tumor originating from the sweat glands. The computed tomography findings of eccrine acrospiroma in the right inguinal area are presented. In our case, the tumor was seen as a well-defined and ovoid-shaped cystic mass with an internal enhancing solid portion and containing calcifications.
